Kelinda Shen
Director Kelinda is a current third year Biomedical Engineering major at the University of Texas at San Antonio, pursing the concentration of Nanotechnology and Bioimaging. She is also minoring Biology in hopes of going to medical school one day. Kelinda participates as one of the few undergraduate researchers in the Regenerative Medicine and Device Innovation Lab under the direction of Dr. Teja Guda at UTSA. Kelinda has been recognized as the Team Captain for the Winning Team in the Monster Mash Pumpkin Smash Trebuchet Competition, UTSA Honor Rolls Student, UTSA Dean's List, and 2023 College of Engineering and Integrated Design Changemaker Nominee. Kelinda has also participated in the last two SSW Medical Device Make-A-Thons, placing 5th place and 10th place respectively. Outside the classroom. Kelinda enjoys hiking, photography, and swimming. |
Sai Vijay Trilochan Reddy Tadi
Head Coordinator Sai is a rising senior at the University of Texas at San Antonio, majoring in Biomedical Engineering with a concentration in Biomaterials/Cellular Engineering. He is one of the few undergraduate researchers in the Regenerative Medicine and Device Innovation Lab under the mentorship of Dr. Teja Guda at UTSA. With aspirations to pursue an MD/PhD, Sai has also been recognized as a member of the UTSA Honors College, a UTSA Honor Roll student, and named on the UTSA Dean's List. He has participated in the last two editions of SSW Make-A-Ton, placing 11th and 12th respectively. Outside of his academic pursuits, Sai enjoys watching his favorite football club Chelsea playing, swimming, gardening and playing horse polo. |
Rogelio Castilla
Head Coordinator Rogelio is a rising senior biomedical engineering undergraduate student at the University of Houston, and the upcoming president of UH-BMES. He works in Dr. Ran An's lab, specializing in microfluidics and biosensing research. Rogelio is passionate about the development of accessible medical diagnostic and treatment technologies, as well as tissue engineering and biophysics applications. Rogelio has experience in both research and project management and is passionate about the application of engineering first principles to create innovative solutions in healthcare. He has previously competed in the Medical Device Make-a-Thon twice, once achieving top place with his team tackling parasitic detection using a practical, low-cost, point-of-care microfluidic immunoassay system. |
Jacob Kachich
Solidworks Instructor Field: Mechanical Engineering (Junior) To address the high demand of A.I. systems and robotics, Jacob will aim for a certificate in Design and Control of Mechanical Systems along with his degree. Being proficient in MATLab. Solidworks, and computing, he aims to create construction robotics to physically perform work in one of the hardest manual labor fields. Jacob has scored 1st place in the Makerspace 2022 CAD competition and actively open sources his creations made in Solidworks. With any recreational activity being an insult to him, he is purely driven by progress. |
Micah Langhammer
3D Print Instructor Field: Mechanical Engineering (Junior) A dedicated student currently at UTSA pursuing a degree in Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. Micah has an extensive background in design and manufacturing, everything from woodworking to 3D printing is right up his alley. With a keen eye for detail, Micah is always finding new ways to solve problems and strives to produce high quality, functional work. |

Head of Website Design Greetings. I am a (sophomore by degree) senior majoring in Biomedical Engineering and I hope to launch a career in the designs and maintenance of arm amputation prostheses to provide support to disabled veterans and civilians. My interests range from logical philosophy to creative illustration, and I appreciate food of all kinds. I will put forth my best efforts to improve the next Medical Make-a-Thon and make many memories with our splendid committee. |
Nicholas Wenske
Amanuensis and Meeting Scheduler Hello! I am a rising senior at the University of Texas at San Antonio. I am majoring in Biomedical Engineering with a primary focus in Cellular and Tissue Engineering. I have such big goals in life and one of them is to be able to partake in STEM cell research and become more developed in Tissue generation with 3D software. I am very determined to have the Medical Make-a-Thon a huge success and I cannot wait to get things started. |
